“Introduction To The Yogic Sciences” is the beginners program for initiation into the methodology of yoga. Through an intensive period of five days, the program is intended to give a brief introduction into the yogic sciences with its different branches (Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, Kriya Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Tantra Yoga), as well as imparting students with the basic ingredients to begin their practice. Practice includes Surya Namaskar and other asanas (postures), introductory pranayam (breath control), with initiation into Anapanasati meditation (mindfulness of breathing) by the third day.

• Create a basic foundation for the higher sciences of Raja Yoga (the Way of Union through meditation).

Fees : The regular fee for the program is $220. However, we recognize that there may be those who cannot financially afford to learn yoga, hence for individuals who cannot afford the program, donations of any amount are accepted and all are welcome to participate. All income which is generated by Shunya Yoga is to help make the teachings available to the community, offer better resources, and cover the costs for rental of space in which to transmit the teachings.
